Christmas Day in My Life

Here is what a day in my life looks like Christmas Day. I am a HUGE lover of YouTube, vlogs especially because I love being able to have that sneak peek into what someone else’s life is like. So, I want to share what my Christmas day is like, heads up its pretty jam-packed with Christmas gatherings. I have 4, yes you heard right, 4 Christmases that I go to all in one day.

This Christmas was slightly different than it used to be as my younger brother was sick the days leading up to Christmas, so he slept in on top of turning 14, so the days of waking our parents up at 6:30 and 7 in the morning are over. I’m okay with it as I work at UPS usually on breaks and this break has put me on the struggle bus. So we all slept in till 8:30ish, not that our parents complained in the slightest.

My dad is a huge photography lover and so since I was a kid we had to get “presentable” before going downstairs to start Christmas. So once we were all picture ready aka no bed head and trying to wash off the tired face UPS leaves you with after working 14 days straight, we went downstairs to open stockings.

As I’ve said before in my Stocking Stuffer Gift Guide, stocking stuffers can be some of my favorites since the space is so small more often than not in my family the gifts tend to be useful. In my stocking this year I received bath bombs, a few makeup & beauty products, and a gift card.

After opening stockings in the family room, we moved over to the living room to open up our larger presents. This was rather speedy this year since my brother and I only had gifts that were more on the expensive side. Good thing it was short because I had to hustle to get ready and have time to let my fur babies out which is so much work than it should have been because it been a wet Christmas. Rinsing off eight paws on eighty something pounds dogs in a tiny laundry room is no easy feat, like what fun is it without chasing your dogs around in circles in a 25 sq ft place about 20 times.

Oddly enough, my mom’s parents live only three houses down, so it’s pretty easy to just walk down the street and having Christmas lunch or supper as they call it. We had a nice sit-down Christmas meal together, and my grandmother makes amazing stuffing that I missed out on at Thanksgiving because she was in Florida having Thanksgiving with my aunt. Anywayyys we ate lunch and dessert and then moved into the other room for Christmas. We face timed family that wasn’t able to make it and exchanged gifts before my boyfriend, and I booked it to his family Christmas. Side note: is anyone else think the word boyfriend sounds weird? Like it just seems childish to me in a way.

His family Christmas was really enjoyable because he has a little niece and I feel like its been so long since receiving those types of gifts and just getting so exciting that I wanted to open the present right then and there to play with it. Plus it’s so funny how history repeats itself when you see a kid receiving the same game you used to play with as a child.

This was meal three of the day at three in the afternoon. I was about 3 hours pregnant with a food baby currently passing for a few months pregnant. I LOVE that both our families are good cooks, but I would appreciate it if they weren’t so good that I need to own a size up in jeans just for holidays.

At five we again hauled butt across town to go to my dad’s side of the family Christmas, we may have been just a little late time wise. If I’m honest that side of the family always runs a half hour to an hour late so in reality the party was just getting started. This is still the largest of my Christmases and can last over five hours. That side of my family is decently large, and it’s just a production to eat dinner let alone exchange gifts amongst family. I did happen to receive one of my favorite gifts I think I have ever received. I love art, and so my grandmother and my uncle paired up to gift me a piece of artwork from a family friends collection and I’m in love.

After all four of our Christmases, my family, my boyfriend and I went home and watched a Hallmark Christmas movie and ended Christmas day.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas or any other holiday you may celebrate, at the very least I hope you were able to catch up with friends and family.
