Hey boss babes!
This week has been a crazy whirlwind but it brought this blog post idea so I guess that makes it all worth it. Today’s post is centered around ways to change your life in just one week. Sometimes I’ve wondered why it just felt like I was staying in the same place and it’s because I was being the same and doing the same as I was before. Lucky for you, I have come up with a few helpful tips to make this week better than last week!
Life and success are both just mind games full of decisions. In order to make better decisions and have a better life, you have to create a mindset to do so. This post contains 7 tips to help change your life. There are enough tips for every day of the week, but to give you a little push I dare you to apply and work on one of these tips.
I have and continue to do this, so you can too.
#1 Get Some Beauty Sleep
We all have heard that getting enough sleep is important for soooo many reasons so I’m not going to continue beating the dead horse. Some people need more sleep than others and if you pay attention to your body from day to day you will likely figure out who you are. I tend to thrive between 6-7 hours a night. Also, for those of you who want to know how people are morning people, first things first, get enough sleep.
#2 Stop Procrastination & GYST (get your sh*t together)
I was never much of a procrastinator until this past year of college. I just had some much that I was constantly putting everything off until it was due the next day or even the day a few times. What I have learned is that every time I put something off, it just stays on my to-do list making it longer for the next day which makes me want to put it off more. I’ve learned that about myself and so now I do everything that takes less than 5 minutes as soon as it comes up or I am thinking about it which keeps my list a lot smaller and manageable.
#3 Be Kind to Others – Karma is a B**ch
I used to believe that karma was just what punished others for being mean or rude, granted that was until I was about 13. Now, I believe that what you put out in the world tends to circle back around. So, if you put out positive vibes then you will receive positivity if you put out negative vibes you receive negativity, simple. I’m pretty sure there is a quote or proverb that says “treat others as you would like to be treated” and I truly try to live by that. So, even if you don’t see something happen right away just know that it will come back at some point, so make it a good thing!
#4 Don’t Worry About the Small Things
I say this because they are just that, small. If you ask yourself will this matter next week or even tomorrow and the answer is no, then move on! There is only so much time in a day to worry about the big things, the things that will affect next week, next month, and next year. Worry about the little things is a waste of time because they may even be out of your control and worrying about them does make them any better.
#5 Work Smarter Not Harder
I bet we have all heard this one before! This is something I have heard all throughout college and honestly my entire life. Why would you ever want to work harder when if you thought through something, it would save you so much time and effort? Take cooking, for example, you can choose to read the recipe before you start cooking, or you can read while you are cooking. You are more likely to skip a step or not start part of the recipe at the right time if you don’t read it beforehand. Read it first and this will save you the trouble of having to start over or realizing you don’t have an ingredient you thought you did, trust me I’ve done that.
#6 Eliminate as Much of Negativity From Your Life As Possible
Negativity and negative people are just energy drainers! It can and it will suck the life out of you. This may be a person or a habit you have developed, get rid of it or work to get rid of it, it is only weighing you down.
Something very important to do here is moving on from the past, forget it, it was the past and no longer matters. So holding a grudge you don’t even know why you have isn’t good for anyone and is unnecessarily bringing you down. I’ll admit that I’m a grudge holder and so when I work to let go of those grudges I can literally feel the stress and negativity leave as I forgive and move on.
Btw, stretching and exercise is great for relieving stress and helps you be more positive!
#7 Be Grateful
You can spend your entire life in search of happiness. What we may not realize is the happiness we already have in our life that is all around us. Even if you think you have nothing to be grateful for if you are reading this you have access to the internet, you have a bed to sleep in, you have food to fill you, and you have the ability to read. As trivial as those may seem, there are people out there that can’t say these things. Something I have started doing is looking, for one thing, every day that I am grateful for or that brought me happiness.
Remember you are exactly where you are supposed to be right now, at this moment.

🙂 I love the concept of eliminating as much negativity from my life as possible.
