My 2024 Word & Theme for the Year: Abundance

Throughout the last several years, I have pick out a word that I want to embody my desired theme for my year. Last year’s word was exploration and I truly couldn’t have picked a better word as my life began an entirely new chapter. A chapter filled with so much change and exploration of not only myself but of our new life here in Georgia. With so much excitement and change I am seeking a life that is more calm and overall more abundant in nature this year.

For 2024 I cannot imagine a better theme for my year than abundance. I want to feel and create abundance for myself in nearly every aspect of my life.

Abundant Gratitude

If you have been around my blog for quite some time, you may remember that my word of the year back in 2022 was gratitude. At the beginning of 2022, I was in one of the gloomiest times of my life for what seemed like no apparent reason. So that year I decided that I would be determined to grow in gratitude to better my life. From then onwards, I have wanted to continue to grow in gratitude with each passing year. Therefore, this year is no different and I want to feel abundantly grateful for every single aspect of my life.

Gratitude is the open door to abundance.

Unknown

How will I create this abundance of gratitude:

  • Journaling at least once weekly and taking note of what I am grateful for that week.
  • Documenting my life through videos and photos to have record of all of the happy and joyful moments.
  • Further develop my prayer life and thoughtfulness.

Abundant Growth

2023 was my year of exploration which served my desire for self-development and self-improvement. I challenged myself in many ways last year by stepping out of my comfort zone and this year I want to take that a step further. I already know that I am more capable than I was giving myself credit for, as we all are, and now I want to see just how capable I am. I want to see how much I can grow my dream of the Life Made Wholesome brand through YouTube, this blog, other social media outlets, and even the book I have been working on.

Here are several of the ways I hope to have abundant growth:

  • My confidence in myself as a person and what I am capable of.
  • YouTube channel (ie my on-camera skills, editing skills, idea development and thereby growing my subscribers)
  • Blog (I want to better research topics, expand into new areas such as recipes, and learn Pinterest and SEO strategies to grow this audience) A HUGE thank you to all who are reading this!
  • My faith and relationship with the lord. I want to be able to put more trust in him and come to him with all prayer not just those I believe he would find worthy.

Abundant Health

Health has always been one of my biggest priorities in life. This year my husband has committed to a lifestyle change that I am fully invested in helping to support. This means that in addition to my usual health consciousness, I will now be taking that a step further as I aid him in this big change. While our nutrition likely won’t change all that much, my current fitness routine, or lack thereof, could us a fair amount of help.

This year I am prioritizing my physical fitness by doing more than just cardio and calisthenics. I am going to begin weight training so that I can feel strong again. I used to feel like an absolute weapon back in my competitive soccer days and I would like to get back to that. I want to be able to do a push up without struggling. Or on a more relatable everyday note, I would like to be able to lift the large cast iron skillets and my filled stock pots without as much effort. I also want to get back to being able to run a mile or even a 5K without feeling as though I have run an entire marathon.

Ways I will be developing my physical fitness and health:

  • Drinking enough water everyday
  • Weight training
  • Complete running program to be able to run a 5k and eventually a 10k by year end
  • Complete 75 Hard with my husband
  • Work out at least 4 days a week with 1 work out involving weight lifting

Abundant Trust

I want to continue to build trust in myself and even more importantly in God and what he has in store my and my husband’s lives. All too easily I put all of the stress and burdens of life on myself when our God wants to ease those burdens by sharing our concerns and prayers with him. In doing so, I think be furthering my relationship with the lord that I will also better myself. I will allow myself to have faith and trust in what I am capable and the dreams I have for my life. All too often I think can believe our dreams are too big and rather unrealistic when if we would just believe in ourselves, we would likely accomplish so much more than we ever thought possible.

In Conclusion

These are just a few of the targeted areas in which I want my life to feel full of abundance, but there are so many more I could list. Some of which being I want an abundant marriage, friendships, finances, joy, and so forth. Throughout the year I intend to provide updates as to how this word of the year is changing my life and who I am as a person.
