4 Things to Do on Sunday for a More Productive Week

Someone I have slowly learned over the past couple years is that Sunday is really the first day of my week and it should be the first day of your week too! Sunday is a day to get things done so that the rest of the week can be as easy and relaxing as possible. The entire week and especially Monday seems a lot less crappy when you are prepared and know everything that you have to get done.

Write a To-Do List for the Week

This is my number one tip for having a more productive week! Seriously. Having everything you need to do for the week laid out by the start of Monday morning allows you to get right into it. You may be able to do this on your phone but I am way more of a pen to paper kind of girl, so I love to write mine down in a notebook or on a thousand sticky notes and put them on a wall so that as I do them I can cross them off of take them off the wall. I am also a huge advocate for daily planners, weekly planners, monthly, yearly, meals planners workout planners, literally everything!

Clean Your Place and Especially Your Desk

I cannot get a single thing done, especially productively, when my apartment and my desk is a wreck and let me tell you its always an utter wreck come Sunday night. If you are a student or work a desk job then on Friday or Sunday it is best to get everything you need set up for the “next day in the office” ready to go on your desk. Then there’s your house, apartment, dorm room or whatever you have that you need to clean up too. I’m pretty sure there is some saying that a messy place means a messy life or something along those lines. Cleaning my place is often a 4 hour affair so that I can get all the laundry done and vacuum up the dog hair tumbleweeds that plaque my apartment.

Clean Out Your Emails

If you have a job or are a college student like me then all of the non-important emails seem to pile up throughout the week or flood in on the weekends. So, I like to sit down on Sunday and clean them all out so on Monday I can actually catch all of my school and work emails that are actually important. Plus I don’t know about you but I am a lot nicer and have a lot more patience on a Sunday night than a Monday morning between my morning classes.

Meal Prep or Meal Plan if That’s Your Thing

I use to meal plan and prep so much that I had the same meal everyday for a week and sometimes a month. Once you’ve had the same peanut butter and banana pita everyday for lunch for a year you kind of burn yourself out meal prepping to that degree but the weird thing is that I never actually got sick of it then, I got sick of it after the fact. So now I prep ingredients opposed to actual meals because then I can cook up different meals in 10 minute flat and I can eat whatever I’m craving that day.

And Before You Leave Thinking I’m Crazy…

I know using your Sunday as a work day or a prep day is the last thing you want to do but you will be thanking me before you know it! Getting these things done, cleaned, and prepped don’t take all day unless you are an absolute mess like me and will make your entire week a lot better!

Have a great week everyone!

  1. This is actually a wise idea, to prep you week on a Sunday. I feel like I tend to overlook some of these, but it sounds like your week is way less stressful when you’ve prepared properly. I think I’ll try this. 🙂
